Let’s Teach English

“Let’s Teach English” is a social initiative by APR Charitable Trust (ACT) for Woman Empowerment focused on empowering individuals from underprivileged communities around Adarsh Palm Retreat Villa community in Bangalore by equipping them with essential english language skills like reading, listening, speaking and writing skills. This unique and free of cost program provides one on one english teaching over the phone, starting with phonics and granting access to a digital book library. The success of the program led to its expansion, catering not only to the initial individuals but also extending the opportunity to their family members enabling participants to master english, the initiative opens doors to new opportunities in education, employment, and social engagement. Every year, around 300 underprivileged people are benefitted in the community neighbourhood with this program.

Paws for a Cause

It is an initiative by a registered non-profit organisation called “Let’s Live Together (LLT)”, India’s first foster based rescue program for orphaned puppies in Bangalore. They work with the community without a shelter and so far, 4000 lives have been impacted with their perseverance and hard work. Nidhi was a volunteer in this initiative and conducted a donation drive for the homeless dogs born on the street. She collected 12 boxes of dog accessories, foods, toys and medical items and donated to LLT.

Kerala Folklore Academy

Kerala Folklore Academy, an independent centre for cultural affairs, was established on 28 June 1995 in Kannur, Kerala. The main objective of the Academy is to promote and protect the traditional art forms of Kerala. The institution provides financial assistance of folk artists and artisans. Economic aid programs and academic councils are conducted to promote the traditional Kerala art forms.
As part of Nidhi’s artisan project, she conducted a research on decline in the growth of handicraft industries like Pottery, Metal work & Weaving in Kerala. The research culminated in a research paper and a book inspired by her findings which emphasis the need of citizens to support and preserve this industry. The proceeds from her book will be donated to artisans and she setup a fund of 1.5 lakhs in collaboration with this academy.
